PHYSICAL SPACE
The parking lot of Common Ground has one accessible parking spot. There is an elevated sidewalk with a curb leading to the front door; this sidewalk has a ramp entrance beside the accessible parking spot as well as a ramp leading from the street sidewalk. The front door to Common Ground is 34” wide and manually opens outward. Inside, there is a lobby with a sitting area, and hallways leading to the bathhouse and the practitioner rooms. The doors inside the building are all 35” wide. There are two armchairs in the lobby, which are 22” wide (armrest to armrest) and 23” sitting depth (front to back). There is also a bench in the lobby that is 65” wide and 20” sitting depth (front to back) and has a weight capacity of 700lbs. The restroom near the lobby has a changing table.
There is a narrow hallway leading into the bathhouse that is 35” wide; the locker area inside is 8’ by 8’ with a long bench in the middle. The showering area includes one detachable shower head and one seat that folds out from the wall. Shower chair has a weight limit capacity of 400lbs. The soaking tub is 3’ to 3’- 8” deep, and has three steps with two handle bars leading into the tub. There are several benches and chairs in the courtyard soaking area. There are seats along the perimeter of the tub. Inside the sauna are wooden benches which are 1’4” inches deep. There are two levels of benches; the first level is 1’6” tall, and the second level is higher up at 3’ tall. All restrooms at Common Ground are gender neutral. There are grab bars beside toilets in all restrooms, and grab bars alongside part the indoor space in the bathhouse and in the showers.
We are not a scent-free facility since some practitioners use scented oils or products. The soap and lotion available for clients in the bathhouse include unscented options. The soap in the showers is castile soap with a coconut base. The scented soap option contains essential oils and no chemical fragrances. We encourage clients to come scent-free to help us create a space that is welcoming to all.
COVID SAFETY
Our building has a HEPA air filter in the lobby and some practitioners have air filters in their rooms. If you would like your practitioner to wear a mask during the session, please let the front desk know.
PRACTITIONER APPOINTMENTS
Some practitioners are able to offer accommodations such as lowering the massage table, chair massage, clothed massage, not using scented products, assistance walking to / from appointments, and assistance getting dressed / undressed. We also have weight capacity information available for many of our practitioner’s massage tables. If you have access needs for your practitioner wellness session, please let us know in advance so that we can work with you to find a practitioner who is able to meet your needs.
