Fig Aiamune

Shiatsu is a Japanese word meaning "finger pressure." In my work, I give your body pressure with the use of my thumbs, palms, elbows and knees to help activate and balance energy flow. In other words, I help to get things moving where circulation has become stagnant. Tension, stress and pain are found when energy is bound up. No oils or lotions are used in this work, so you remain fully clothed.

During, and especially after, a treatment you can feel any number of things:

• A tense or stressed body is relieved when pressure techniques,
stretching and guided breathwork are given.
• Digestion improves
• Breathing improves
• You might begin to notice that previously experienced ‘stuck’
or stagnant states in your life start to flow with more ease
• Perspective of life and attitude toward personal life situations
changes, naturally, making living less worrisome
• Over time, you might move through emotional situations with more clarity and with less reaction
• You feel good... more alive, throughout your entire being: body, mind and spirit

Fig is in her 10th year of practice. She began building a practice in Philadelphia, PA in 2008 and has continued growing since moving to Portland in 2010. She completed her education at the International School of Shiatsu in Pennsylvania and the Oregon School of Massage.
