Dr. Kirby Teuila Grey
Dr. Kirby Teuila Grey, LAc. DAHM is an integrative East Asian medicine practitioner, somatics bodyworker, facilitator, and a filmmaker/storyteller/artist. Using these modalities, Dr. Kirby seeks to help folks heal from the physical and spiritual diseases that ail them, re-pattern their energies, and reconnect holistically with their essential selves.
After studying theology as an undergraduate, Kirby earned her master’s degree in acupuncture and Chinese medicine in 2012, and completed her doctorate program for acupuncture and herbal medicine in 2023. Her doctoral candidacy training culminated with a completion of her thesis entitled, ‘A Practitioner’s Guide to Treating Internalized Oppression’.
She has led many workshops, classes and talks on various topics, including integrative East Asian medicine principles and practices to self-cultivate the embodied experience of freedom from the internalized oppression within.
Kirby is a first generation Samoan American from Western Samoa, Czech, with mixed Scot/Western European descent. She centers the Indigenous life pathways of knowing and movement of reality. She recognizes and honors the numerous indigenous tribes of Turtle Island.
A lifelong Pacific North-westerner, Dr. Kirby settled in Portland, OR in 2019 with her husband and two step children after living in Seattle, WA for over 15 years.

Specialities: reproductive health for all genders; sports medicine and pain management; mental, emotional, and spiritual health; nervous system disorders; chronic fatigue; allergies; and the treatment of internalized oppression.
Modalities: In each session, Dr. Kirby may employ a combination of acupuncture, dry needling, Chinese tuina massage, cupping, gua-sha, Chinese organ and visceral manipulation, cranial sacral, and other bodywork and energy medicine techniques with sacred storytelling methods.
Sessions are often paired with herbal prescriptions, diet, body movement, intuitive coaching and other lifestyle recommendations that will support your process of healing and transformation. Because of Dr. Kirby's approach to treatment, she never leaves the room and is providing care during the entire session.
As of January 1, 2024 Dr. Kirby is no longer taking insurance. She accepts HSA and FSA cards, can provide super bills for insurance reimbursement, and offers 25% of her schedule towards a sliding scale program for those in need.
